1. Wait for approval before just jumping in. Yes, I know how sometimes the mods gleefully love to not get on whilst you sit there hitting refresh over and over, but there's a reason for this. We need to make sure your character doesn't conflict with the story, other characters, follows the rules, and that you showed a conscious effort in making it. Just be patient, we'll get to it. We promise.
2. No god-modding. Your characters start out weak, and work their way up. You can't just wipe out waves of foes, or unleash epic mystic artes like end game characters. Even powerful people have limits, know the limits of your character. You aren't all powerful, and getting in over your head can get your character... killed. Also, if fighting with another PC, no controlling them. It's not your character, you can't decide how they react. Some characters, due to their histories, may start out as strong. Creating a veteran fighter, for example. This is fine, but, in player vs player, you'll still need to assume that the other player is capable of matching your skills. It's a narrow line to walk between dominating your opponent, and providing a balanced Roleplay, but it's one we expect our players to follow. Read the Player Vs Player guide here.
3. When you post, try to have something to say. It doesn't have to be much, but try to keep it to at least one four sentence paragraph. No one liners, or posts just to talk OOC. Take it pms, general board, or even our handy cbox if you want to talk.
4. Stay in one area at a time. If you want to go to another area, leave the first one. Try to stay reasonable, don't just teleport across the planet and being in places you don't belong.
5. Don't steal from the dead, it's not cool. Well, in better terms, no taking enemies money, items, or things of that nature. I know it happens in the games all haphazardly, but it's more of a case of it would ruin the site's economy. If you pick up that awesome sword from the corpse of the fallen, what's the point in buying it?
6. Try to keep things clean. Cursing is fine, as long as you keep it mild. We don't need F-bombs, but a mild Damn is fine. In the same vain, try to keep things pg-13. We don't need the fluffy couple that is so in wuv to be getting it on in the topic. Seriously, we don't need to know this.
7. Your character doesn't know everything, especially things across the world. Things you may know aren't exactly things your person knows. Nobles will probably be more educated, while peasants won't know as much. Keep this in mind when posting.
Admin Addition:
Outside of the RP we've got one more rule.
8. No Flaming. This means no badmouthing members, staff, or guests, because of opinions, color, gender,... the whole kit and caboodle. Stating your own opinions in a calm, well presented way is not flaming those who disagree with you, but text-yelling at those you disagree with is not only offensive and immature, but unacceptable behavior on this forum. That being said, I understand that we can all have strong feelings, and flaring tempers at times. Just do your best to manage them.
8.a: As an extension to the no flaming rule, this also means that what a staff member says you need to do, you need to do. It's their job to maintain order here. They're not going to pick on you just because they don't like your story, or want you to do something. I didn't select them for that purpose. Also, if there is a complaint against a member or staff, it is to be sent directly to me, where I will look into it. If you insist on posting it publicly on the forum, I'll be forced to assume that you are merely trying to start trouble, and want attention. That is not what will happen. Doing so will be a step towards ban and deletion. There are better ways to get attention than causing beginning fights on my forum.
