As the pair exited the city into the surround field, Cammy finally lowered her hood again and took a deep breath. It was nice out here. Sure, there was a lack of hot people, but it was peaceful for once. She led Luna a little ways away from the city before lying down in the soft grass. She slid her boots off and let her feet relax for a bit. "Sit down, relax," she said to her companion. "We'll break here for a little bit. We can learn about each other. Plus, down time is good."

"O-ok..." Luna sat down next to Cammy with an exhausted look on her face. It was a fairly long walk to the city from Grandpa's house, and Luna was planning to stay a day before heading out further, but after what happened, she was glad to leave so soon. Luna let down her ponytail and started brushing her hair out of habit. She didn't really know what to say to Cammy, so she remained quiet.

Cammy closed her eyes as the sun beat down on the pair. Ah, sweet relaxation. Right up there with flirting and fighting. She just laid there for a few minutes before she opened her eyes again and looked over at Luna. The girl was more than cute, she was downright adorable. She was like the little sister Cammy had always wanted but never had. She watched her brush her own hair before speaking up. "Do you want some help with that?"

"N-no, I d-don't like anyone t-touching my h-hair..." Luna looked at the ground, her timidness getting the best of her. Grandpa was the only friend she had ever had, so she didn't know what to say to anyone. Luna slowly put away her brush and tied her hair back up, without looking up from the ground.

Cammy couldn't help but smile. Adorable. "That's fine, sweetie." She flipped herself up into a sitting position. "You really haven't met many other people besides that grandfather of yours, have you?" She asked kindly. It was clear she wasn't the most outgoing of people, but if they were to travel together she'd gave to get her to open up a little bit.

"No, b-but that's okay. Grandpa raised me all by himself, a-and he's a h-hermit, s-so I haven't been out m-much. But, I h-hope we'll be good f-friends, r-right?" she looked up and Cammy, expecting a quick answer. Maybe it was too much to hope for, they had just met after all.

Cammy gave a little chuckle and smiled. "Of course we will be. And I'll try to teach you all you need to know to function in today's world." She nodded as she talked. Of course flirting would be taught too. As she laid back down, several thoughts ran through her head. "So," she said, speaking up again, "any idea where you'd like to go next, Miss World Traveler?"

Luna recalled Grandpa's map, "I b-believe Orden is the n-next closest city... i-is it n-not? P-perhaps we could go there." Luna was very glad to have met someone so nice so early in her journey. This would certainly ease the rough times ahead, having someone to confide in and to help out. Luna regained the vigor for her journey she had lost while in Meltokio.

"Orden it is," Cammy said, stretching out again. She really didn't want to move on already because she was nice and comfy, but if Luna wanted to she would. "Do you want to head out now or relax here a little more?"

"I'd l-like to stay out here a l-little longer... I've a-already walked pretty f-far today." Luna smiled, it was good to know that someone was here watching out for her. But, Cammy didn't really say anything about their destination, had she not given much thought about her journey, and was just going to go wherever her feet took her? Maybe I'm overanalyzing too much.

"Ah, now that's what I like to hear. A little R and R never hurt anybody!" Cammy said happily. "In a little bit we can look for some place good to sleep, but for now, rest." She pulled her beret down over her eyes and let them close. She wasn't going to sleep, just resting her eyes. "So Luna, what do you wanna talk about?"

"U-um... I don't know... I'm sorry..." Luna thought for a second, then blurted out, "Oh, um, w-why was t-that man after you? The one in f-front of the c-city gates?" Luna, being sheltered her whole life, didn't know much about romance. Yet another topic Grandpa had neglected to talk to her about.

"Oh, him." Cammy rolled her eyes. "That was Carth, an idiot from the city. He wanted to marry me, like so many other men there." She gave a little sigh. "You know, you give the boys a little attention, flirt once or twice or fifty times a day and suddenly they all think they're in love with you! It's hard to keep that up when they all start doing stupid stuff for attention." She shook her head. "Men, can't live with them, wouldn't wanna live without them."

"Eh?" There were at least three words in that sentence Luna was sure Grandpa had never used before. She had learned a lot about history and magic from Grandpa, but nothing about romance. She suddenly realized that living with an old man for thirteen years was not the best way to learn social skills. "U-um, Cammy? I m-may sound stupid, but, um, what's l-love?"

Cammy lifted her beret and gave Luna an interesting look. "Well, my fair Luna, that is a deep question. What is love..." Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more She thought, thinking of a song she had heard a street musician singing once. Catchy song. Anyways. "Love is... well a feeling you have towards certain people, a strong feeling. There are different kinds of love. Like with you, you could say you love your Grandpa, as most people love their families and from how you talk about him I'd say you're one of them. Another type is for friends. If you have some close friends, you can love them too, in a friendly way. Then there's the love Carth was talking about. That type of love is special and hard to find. It's a feeling that tells you that the person giving you that feeling is very special and that you want to spend the rest of your life with him or her. Some people, like Carth, can misread the types of love or another feeling, though. So it's a tricky thing, love." Very tricky indeed...
