Canons take a bit more consideration. They will probably be more involved in plot lines, and so will take a more flexible player. Bear that in mind. Also, some canons may not be available at certain times.
Natural Beings:
Mithos Yggdrasiel: The young half-elf hero destined for great things. He, and his companions are the heroes of the Ancient Kharlan War, spoken of in the distant future. They are the ones who put a stop to the fighting, forcing the world to cease it's war, but he is no hero yet. This is the story leading up to , and including his exploits. How will his ventures change him in the future? Armed with magic, and a hope for a better future, he strives to change the world and help other half-elves gain acceptance.
Martel Yggdrasiel: Mithos' elder sister, who raised him in the absence of their parents. At the heart of things, she is kind and selfless, trying to withstand the hatred directed towards half-elves, while journeying to save the world that hates them so much. She is a healer. She looks after those around her. She became engaged to Yuan during their journey.
Yuan Kafei: Yuan Kafei, a half-elf raised in what would someday become Asgard, was a companion to Mithos the Hero. Tending more towards self-importance than the others, he favors a more refined taste. A solid wielder of the double-bladed sword, he augments his abilities with lightning based artes and spells. He became engaged to Martel during their journey.
Kratos Aurion: Even during his early years, Kratos Aurion was a wanderer. The human mercenary befriended Mithos, and took on the role of mentor to the boy. With his unflappable demeanor, and his skill with sword, shield, and magic, he makes a reliable, and confident, if sometimes hard companion.

Volt; Lightning: I call upon the hammer of godly lightning, I summon thee, come, Volt! Volt speaks not the language of humans, and he has not desire to compromise and do so. Aska; Light: Aska is a large, two headed bird who shares the position of Light Spirit with the woman Luna. While Luna is timid, Aska is confident and direct. Non-elemental Spirits (Summons)
Origin; King of the Spirits: I call upon the source of heaven, earth, and everything in between, ruler of all, I summon thee, come, Origin! The King of the Summon Spirits. A being of incredible power, he is capable of altering time and space. However, he believes in maintaining a non-interference policy, regarding the world. As such, he only rarely is involved in the natural world.
Maxwell; Spirit of Birth: I call upon the ancient ruler of the elements, I summon thee, come, Maxwell!
Ratatosk; Lord of the Monsters: Ratatosk, the Lord of all monsters, is the spirit of the Giant Kharlan Tree, which is the source of life. It is he that distributes the world's mana evenly. To do this, he created monsters, as a sort of device to carry the mana to where it was needed. In the deep past, it was he who sealed the demons powerful terrors which mana is toxic to, in Niflheim, and it is he who maintains this seal, still.
Centurion Spirits; Servants of Ratatosk
The Centurions are spirits who assist Ratatosk with managing monsters. There is a centurion for every element, and they, in turn, rule over the monsters of their element.

Tenebrae; Darkness: The Centurion of Darkness. Perhaps Ratatosk's most loyal servant, Tenebrae bears a serious personality that can morph into a bit of mischeviousness. He speaks in a very refined manner, and seems rather calm and care-free, most of the time. He's been known to worry about "coming off as an old man" and insists that "Centurions are ageless", not old. Depite this, he does indeed seem to come off as an old man. Perhaps this is why he's been called "spiteful" rather than merely "foolish".
